Leisure Sales Manager II - Visit Grapevine
Job Summary: Promotes and sells Grapevine as a premier travel destination with a primary focus on continuing to expand leisure group sales, primarily in the domestic market as well as assigned international markets. Assists in the overall planning, strategy and coordination of leisure related activities as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Creates and implements sales plans developed with guidance from the Director to attract new and repeat tour groups to Grapevine.
2. Develops and implements additional tour itineraries and packages for domestic as well as assigned international markets promoting Grapevine as a group tour destination.
3. Manages and tracks annual budget for domestic and assigned international markets with the guidance of the Director; maintains oversight of expenses and makes adjustments as needed.
4. Conducts sales prospecting to develop new domestic and assigned international leisure sales targets.
5. Works closely with the Marketing Team to develop promotional marketing materials for tradeshows and sales calls and keeps updated throughout the year.
6. Works with the Marketing Team on group tour ad placements and messaging throughout the year.
7. Manages the American Bus Association’s Annual Marketplace Team Texas booth on an annual basis. This process includes soliciting sponsorships, organizing booth program, material, booth backdrop and signage, ordering essentials for the booth, sponsor and tour operator follow-up, etc. This process requires year-round communication.
8. Manages assigned booked tour packages to ensure that all group activities are organized, confirmed and tour operators get invoiced in a timely manner.
9. Works closely with the Visitor Center staff to schedule step-on guided tours and Observation Tower Tours as needed.
10. Maintains constant communication with tour operators and other important contacts via both email and phone.
11. Develops and exercises strong relationships with Grapevine partners (i.e.. hotels, attractions, restaurants, boutiques, merchants and galleries, etc.).
12. Assists in the development and execution of the quarterly Grapevine Partners Meeting.
13. Conducts regional sales missions, to include AAA offices and tour offices where needed (i.e.. Houston, San Antonio, Oklahoma.)
14. Participates in designated tradeshows throughout the year, representing Grapevine as a group tour or leisure destination.
15. Hosts tour operator FAM tours to promote Grapevine as a key group tour destination.
16. Maintains a high degree of knowledge on existing Grapevine products through frequent visits, site inspections and tours of Grapevine facilities; initiates and maintains close regular contact with Grapevine merchants to promote shopping and dining incentive and in-store events.
17. Utilizing the CRM management system, maintains records, sales call reports and correspondence on active accounts, prospective leads and sales activities on an ongoing basis.
18. Assists with hosting International FAM Tours and Site Visits throughout the year.
19. Assists with new fly/drive itinerary development, as well as annual review and updates to existing itineraries.
20. Works closely with Sales and the Communications Department to ensure that the Leisure portion of the website stays up to date.
21. Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.
22. Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and basic accounting skills.
• CRM management system experience preferred.
• Requires acceptable level of proficiency on skills test to include keyboarding, proofreading, grammar, spelling and editing using Word, Excel and Power Point software.
• Requires excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to successfully multitask assignments and projects simultaneously.
• Must be comfortable working outside comfort zone with a willingness to learn.
• Must be a team player who is able to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service including a desire to help customers regardless of their circumstance.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Must have the ability to learn additional applications as they are applied to work assignments.

• Ability to work flexible schedules as needed for weekends, evenings, holidays and special events and programs.
• Overnight travel required.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
