Texas Tourism Awards Program
The Texas Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus annually awards the Marion Szurek Leadership Award and the Texas Tourism Trailblazer Award to individuals who have made impressive contributions to the Texas Tourism industry. In 2022, to celebrate the association's 50th Anniversary, TACVB introduced the Texas Tourism Hall of Fame.
The goal of the TACVB Awards Program is to develop an all-encompassing and enduring awards system that will recognize individuals who have committed their careers to the improvement, growth and professionalism of TACVB and the travel industry.
Texas Tourism Hall of Fame 
Service. Mentor. Innovator. Pioneer. Champion. Leader. These are the individuals who have helped to mold and advance the tourism industry in the state of Texas. TACVB created the Texas Tourism Hall of Fame to honor these significant contributors.
Marion Szurek Leadership Award
The TACVB Marion Szurek Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has made substantial contributions to the Texas Tourism industry and exhibits legacy, vision, inspiration, leadership, professionalism, and hospitality.
Texas Trailblazer Award
The TACVB Texas Trailblazer Award is presented to an individual that has made a significant contribution to the Texas Tourism industry in a short amount of time and exhibits innovation, strategic thinking, and forward-looking approaches.
Texas Destination Excellence Awards
The Destination Excellence Awards recognize outstanding contributions to destination management in Texas. These awards are primarily juried by an impartial panel of industry experts; Texas destination organizations also have the opportunity to participate in the judging process.
